THE BALOGUN YEMI OGUNBIYI COLLECTION OF THE ARTS OF HIS PEOPLE
About the Exhibition

It is with great pleasure that we welcome you to this exceptional exhibition of Modern/Contemporary and Traditional African art. In this exhibition, we celebrate the boundless creativity, innovation, and cultural richness of African artists who continue to redefine the global art landscape.

Africa, with its rich history and diverse traditions, has long been a source of artistic inspiration. This exhibition serves as a vibrant testament to how artists across the continent blend the deeply rooted narratives of their heritage with bold contemporary expressions. Through their work, they invite us to explore themes of identity, resilience, transformation, and the human experience from uniquely African perspectives.

We are privileged to showcase the voices of both established and emerging talents who, through their art, challenge conventions, provoke thought, and inspire dialogue. Their use of varied mediums—ranging from traditional materials to cutting-edge techniques—reflects the dynamism of African art today and its influence on the global stage.

Let us take this opportunity not just to admire the beauty and ingenuity of the artworks but also to engage deeply with the stories they tell and the emotions they evoke. We encourage you to explore, question, and immerse yourselves in the extraordinary visions presented here.

Thank you for joining us in this celebration of creativity, culture, and connection.
