The Team

C-My Art is a collaborative endeavor by a team of African Art lovers who have embraced the objective and mission statement of the project. It is an affiliation of individuals who are engaged in their own respective businesses or endeavors, but who have also chosen to lend their expertise to see to a successful dream of a greater and better management and development of Afro-centric Art.

 

It is hoped that art lovers in other professions will join the team to lend expertise from their own areas of activity. We invite, especially, art lovers with expertise in Transaction Law, Investment Structuring, Inheritance and Estate Strategy, Art Insurance, Valuation and Authentication to join the team, to help build up these lagging areas in the production, collection and management of Afro-centric Art. 

Amadou Thiam

Amadou Yacine Thiam is an internationally known Consultant on African Art as well as dealer. Nephew of the famous Senegalese sculptor he is himself a trained sculptor, a gallery owner and an avid collector of African Art. Amadou has been described as a walking encyclopedia of African art. Since the 1970's he has travelled extensively in Sub-Saharan Africa or collaborated with others to source and promote traditional African art to international art Buyers and Collectors. He has also been actively campaigning for the preservation and management of African Art by Africans. Amadou serves as the key Link to the Private International Collectors with many of whom he is quite familiar.

Chuma Ikenze

Chuma Ikenze is an internationally experienced financial management expert with over 30 years of experience in developing business intelligence solutions. Chuma is also an avid collector of Afro-centric Art. His collection includes works by internationally known contemporary Artists, and some Masters. . He applied his expertise in finance, and information management to design the robust and user-friendly environment of C-My Art. Chuma serves as the Chief Technology Officer and Adviser on the team.

Nana Asumah

Nana Asumah is one of the leading forces on the Nigerian art scene, as a collector and an dealer. Her art gallery ArtPatheon is well known for the quality of artworks exhibited and sold. Since starting her business Nana has interacted with and offered her services to many of the major art collectors in Nigeria. Nana has also nurtured many of today's young artists, taking them to international exhibitions in Europe.

Olasehinde Odimayo

Olasehinde Odimayo is the undisputed doyen of the art business in Nigeria, as a collector and a dealer. He one of the pioneered formal Art Dealership in Nigeria, with the launching of Treasure House Art Gallery in 1986. In the almost 40 years of successful operation of his art business, Olasehinde has interacted with the who-is-who in the Nigerian art scene. He has also served as adviser and consultant to numerous art heritage projects commissioned by the Federal Government of Nigeria. Mr. Odimayo is a frequent featured speaker on Art at most major events held by the private as well as public sector. Olasehinde has nurtured and mentored many of today’s internationally recognized young artist and art dealers. He serves as the Chief Expert on the team for the Nigerian art scene.
